It’s something every McDonald’s fan worth their salt has dreamt of doing and now it’s about to become a reality.
Because the McDonald’s delivery service is coming to the UK and it’s going to change the face of takeaway food as we know it.
A McDonald’s delivery service already exists in far flung locales like Turkey and South Korea but, until now, had been unavailable to UK customers.
That’s all changed after this latest announcement though, with McDonald’s announcing that customers will be able to order delivery over the phone.
The possibility of a Big Mac and Fries could also hit other takeaway favourites hard, with the big wigs from the twin worlds of fried chicken and doner kebab no doubt quaking in their boots.
A statement from the fast food giant said:
“Because of our extraordinary footprint, McDonald’s is uniquely positioned to become the global leader in delivery.
“One of the most significant disruptions in the restaurant business today is the rapid increase in delivery.
“Through technology, delivery has changed the way customers order, pay, track and receive food and provide feedback.”
The service, which has been a resounding success in China, could soon be available across the world, meaning the prospect of eating a McDonald’s from your own bed could soon be a very real thing.
Hmm. Can’t tell it that’s good news.
