A new Maltesers advert that premiered during Channel 4’s Paralympics coverage has been given the thumbs up from viewers thanks to its ever-so-cheeky masturbation gag.
Disabled actor Storme Toolis, who you may recognise from The Inbetweeners, is shown discussing an awkward intimate experience with her boyfriend, in which her hand spasms and, well, you can probably guess the rest.
With a packet of Maltesers in hand, Toolis sends the chocolate balls flying across the table in a punchline that was met with approval across social media.
This will be music to Maltesers’ ears. They worked closely with charity Scope to come up with an ad to encourage people to talk about disability. As you can see see below, mission accomplished.
Love Channel 4 for screening this brilliant ad during the #paralympics https://t.co/STeEsULaoy

Ever think you can't fit a sexual joke about Maltesers into an advert? Think again. This is just utterly brilliant. https://t.co/Ph7Fc8FlXV

Scope’s director of external affairs Lisa Quinlan-Rahman said of the TV ad: “We know comedy is a great way to shine a light on the awkwardness that many people feel about disability.
“We hope Maltesers’ use of humour in these adverts will get people thinking differently about disability and help break down the barriers that many disabled people face.
“Life isn’t always full of laughs and we’ve worked very closely with Mars to ensure the adverts reflect the experiences of disabled people.
“Disabled people come from an incredibly diverse array of backgrounds. They rarely see their lives reflected in marketing campaigns, the media, in advertising and in public culture.”
