Kevin-Prince Boateng might be the definition of journeyman midfielder, but the 29-year-old Ghana international still clearly has something to offer if his weekend exploits were anything to go by.
Now playing for Las Palmas in La Liga, the ex-Tottenham, Portsmouth and AC Milan star netted what might be the best goal of 2016 against Villarreal.
A slick passing move switched play from back to front with the ball eventually dropping to Tana in the penalty area. He produced a sublime back heel to fire the ball over to Boateng, who acrobatically blasted the ball into the net from 12 yards out.
There are two words that sum this strike up beautifully: liquid football.
But alas, this cracking strike ultimately means nothing. Las Palmas ended up losing 2-1 to Villarreal at the El Madrigal.
Still, this is one Boateng can look back on years from now and tell the grandkids about. Or in the more immediate future, his slightly more successful younger half-brother Jérôme Boateng.
