Kelsey Grammer Is Exploring The Idea Of A Frasier Reboot

Frasier, the hit comedy series that was a mainstay of the 1990s and 2000s, could be making a comeback of sorts.

According to a report from Deadline, the show’s star Kelsey Grammer is exploring the idea of rebooting the show for a new audience.

Anyone expecting a return of characters like Daphne, Niles and Roz could be left disappointed though.

The report indicates that any new version would be “a reboot, likely set in a new city, with the title character, played by Grammer, as a possible link to the Emmy-winning 1993 series.”

Grammer has been meeting with several writers who are pitching concepts for a potential follow-up to the show, which also starred David Hyde Pierce, Janes Leeves, Peri Gilpin and the late John Mahoney.

Created by David Angell, David Lee and Peter Casey, Frasier started life as a spin-off to the Boston-set sitcom classic Cheers.
