Kelly Rohrbach has revealed she was very nervous about replacing Pamela Anderson in the iconic role of CJ Parker in the new Baywatch movie.

The 27-year-old model is starring alongside Dwayne Johnson, Zac Efron and Alex Daddario in the big budget comedy update of the popular 90s TV hit.

And speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Rohrbach revealed she was more than a little apprehensive about stepping into Anderson’s sizeable shoes.

“(I) didn’t want to disappoint. The role of CJ Parker is one everyone knows and is beloved, so obviously I didn’t want to disappoint the fan base that comes with the show, and I think we didn’t,” she said.

Due for release this May, the film sees Johnson take on the role of Mitch Buchanon, a part made famous by David Hasselhoff, as part of a film that Rohrbach reckons will provide plenty of laughs alongside slow-motion running and mouth-to-mouth action.

“We brought a fresh take to it, which is more comedic in tone, and a little more sexy and spicy. (It has) a little more sass, so I think you guys will enjoy that.”

Some remain unconvinced, however, with Hasselhoff, who cameos in the new film, saying as much during an interview with The Mirror.

“I saw the movie and I said, ‘This is gonna make a lot of money – but it’s still not Baywatch’. You can’t re-create David Hasselhoff,” he said.

Baywatch: The Movie will arrive in cinemas on May 25.
