We’ve covered a range of insane dating apps, but this one is the height of cringe. It’s being hailed by media outlets as “the Tinder for getting pregnant.”
Its called Just A Baby and much like Tinder you can actually swipe for a sperm donor. Developed by two Australians, Paul Ryan, and Gerard Edwards, this new app has just launched in the U.K. and U.S.
So how can you become a sperm donor and digitally spread your seed? The first step involves filling out a “biological profile” listing exactly how you’d like to contribute, whether its sperm or egg donations, surrogacy, co-parenting, or even falling in love.
The app is GPS-enabled which means your future co-parent might just be around the corner.
The creators say that this app is directed at modern millennials who are more and more shaking off the traditional family set up. Baby carriages are showing up way before marriages.
“Millennials are often in this space where they’re transient, their relationships don’t last as long, and they’re putting off having kids,” said Ryan. “I noticed so much anxiety among my friends, and thought, ‘Why not rid the stigma around trying alternative approaches, and make an app?'” Paul Ryan told NBC News.
Unlike a sperm bank, you won’t be paid for your swimmers, unless an agreement is worked out with a prospective baby mama.
So far the app has about 3,000 to 4,000 users signed up – not too shabby for the weirdest dating app ever.
