As you’ve probably heard, Jumanji is getting a reboot with Kevin Hart and Dwayne Johnson this year, and with the film’s release date fast approaching, it got us thinking about the original…
Of course, the late, great Robin Williams was at the heart of the movie’s success, and there was an appearance from a young Kirsten Dunst too.
However, after spending a while procrastinating, going through IMDB as we often do on our lunch breaks here at loaded, we noticed that an actress called Laura Bell Bundy was listed amongst the film’s cast, and we just couldn’t place her.
Anyway, it turns out she starred as ‘Young Sarah’ in the film – you know, the girl who gets freaked out after the young version of Robin William’s character gets sucked into the game.
She played the slightly gawky character at the age of 14, and 22 years on, she’s completely unrecognisable.
We know (or should that be ‘nose’) what you’re thinking – we’ve seen some transformations in our time, but Laura looks like a totally different person since her appearance in Jumanji.
So what’s she been up to since then? Well, since appearing in the movie back n 1995, Laura has racked up screen credits for a host of US shows, including Veronica Mars, How I Met Your Mother, Scream Queens and Fuller House.
Her most substantial role came in Charlie Sheen’s post Two And A Half Men vehicle Anger Management, where she had a recurring role as Dr. Jordan Denby.
She’s done plenty of high-profile Broadway shows too, starring in Legally Blonde and Hairspray. Laura is also a talented musician, and her album Achin’ and Shakin’ actually landed at number 5 in the US country charts back in 2010.
The stunning 35-year-old is set for more roles in US TV, and she’s definitely worth keeping an eye out for – maybe she’s due a surprise cameo in the new Jumanji movie too? Fingers crossed…
