If virtual reality gaming is to take off in the way some experts are predicting then titles like the soon-to-be released John Wick Chronicles could be among those to kick-start the phenomenon.
Due to be released on Steam for HTC Vive on February 9, the game will be available one day before the long-awaited sequel and sounds awesome.
Set between the events of the two movies, the game sees players quite literally step into the shoes of the titular hero.
Previewed at the New York Comic Con at the back end of last year, the game will offer players a room-scale John Wick experience that could be every bit as adrenaline fuelled as the film itself.
And while it is unclear as to whether Keanu Reeves lended his voice or likeness to the game, one familiar face is definitely present and correct in The Wire’s Lance Reddick, who reprises his role as Charon, the concierge at the famous Continental Hotel from the first film.
Co-developed by Starbreeze, Grab Games, Gamecostudios and Big Red Button, the game promises plenty in the way of Matrix-inspired gun fights, complete with smashing glass, enemies around every corner and, of course, those red laser-sights.
Only available on HTC Vive, the game has so far only been tested in demo form, but earned a rave review from Polygon and could yet be the Goldeneye of VR gaming.
