Jessica Lowndes is quite the prankster.
The 90210 actress spent most of her weekend firing out Instagram posts about her engagement to a mystery man.
“His hands are wise and tell a thousands stories,” she wrote in one post. An apparently smitten Lowndes then posted a video of herself in bed, writing: “when bae films you waking up in the morning”.
When it was revealed that Lowndes’ other half was none other than ex-Saturday Night Live comic Jon Lovitz, the online churn engine went into overdrive – mainly highlighting the surprising nature of the romance.
It turns out this was all an elaborate joke from Lowndes, who used the showmance to tee up her latest single Déjà Vu (Remix).
As well as being a TV staple in the US, Lowndes is no stranger to the recording studio having released a pair of albums – Nothing Like This in 2012 and TBT (Throwback Thursday) in 2013 – as well as a whopping 14 singles.
Thanks to the X-rated nature of Déjà Vu’s video and Lovitz’s very strange cameo, this track’s probably going to leave a lasting impression.
Highlights include Lowndes stripping down to her underwear, a valiant attempt at satire through social media-style text bubbles and a reality-bending twist ending that makes Inception look like a Pixar film.
Combined, both videos only just made it past the 100,000 views mark on YouTube. It’s third time lucky for the new Déjà Vu, which has already soared past the 60,000 mark after only being online for a few hours.
