How I Met Your Mother fans rejoice, Jason Segel has gone on record to say that he’d be on board for a potential reunion for the show should it ever materialise.
The actor was speaking at the Austin Film Festival when he was asked if he would be interested in revisiting the character of Marshall Eriksen at some point in the future.
“I’d be around for whatever those guys wanted to do. It [the show] changed my life,” said Segel.
How I Met Your Mother aired from 2005 to 2014 and was a big hit with fans and critics, although the later seasons received more of a mixed reception.
Segel, who has written as well as starred in the likes of Forgetting Sarah Marshall and The Muppets, went on to say that if the show were to come back he would not be interested in assisting with the writing process.
“One of the great things about my relationship to that show is I never got involved in the writing, I just tried to execute what these brilliant writers did, so I would leave that to them, as usual.”
The final episode of the show certainly divided opinion (don’t worry we won’t spoil it for those that haven’t seen it), so it will be interesting to see how the writers set out a tenth season should they decide to press ahead with it.
Still at least we know Segel’s on board, now if they can just persuade Josh Radnor, Alyson Hannigan, Cobie Smulders and Neil Patrick Harris to commit…
