The actor handpicked to play the part of Ivan Drago’s son in the upcoming sequel to the smash hit boxing drama, Creed, has been revealed.
27-year-old boxer Florian “Big Nasty” Munteanu has been cast in the role, which will see him play the boxing offspring of Dolph Lundgren’s character from Rocky IV in the hotly-anticipated spin-off sequel.
Munteanu’s character is being tipped to go toe-to-toe with Michael B. Jordan’s Adonis Creed in the movie, which will serve as both a sequel to the original Creed as well as a call back to the iconic Cold War-tinged Rocky effort.
Lundgren’s character from Rocky IV, Drago, famously ended the life of Carl Weathers’ Apollo Creed in the fourth Rocky outing.

So any bout between Adonis and the younger Drago will be a grudge match, with Jordan’s character seeking revenge for the loss of the father he never had.
Standing tall at a whopping 6’4” and weighing in at a hefty 245 pounds, Munteanu is more than a match for Jordan and will bring an intimidating physical presence to the role, even if his acting skills are found wanting.
Lundgren, meanwhile, is likely to return as his manager and trainer with Sylvester Stallone’s Rocky Balboa serving as Adonis’ trainer.
Rumours are also rife that Balboa and Drago could yet face off in the ring, with Lundgren and Stallone recently taking to social media to highlight their exhaustive training work of late.
There are even some who are suggesting that the film may represent Stallone’s final film as Balboa, with the character potentially killed off.
Steven Caple Jr., who previously directed The Land, is directing the film, which is being written by Stallone alongside Cheo Hodari Coker, whose previous credits include Luke Cage.
Filming on Creed 2 begins in Philadelphia this March, with the film expected to arrive in cinemas on November 21.
