This September London will host the first ever “Hoff-toberfest” gathering, a spectacularly boozy celebration of all things David Hasselhoff.
Keen to capitalise on the UK and Germany’s shared love of The Hoff, the Bavarian Beerhouse on Old Street, London is hosting a night of traditional Oktoberfest celebrations on September 29 with a special Hoff twist.
Oktoberfest is a German tradition dating back to Munich in the year 1810 and the world’s largest Volksfest (beer festival and funfair). It’s a festival that has been celebrated ever since, though it’s unlikely that any German of Hoff fan has seen anything quite like this.
Hoff-toberfest will include a traditional OompahPah German band, flown in especially from Bavaria for the occasion, playing a selection of The Hoff’s classic hits such as the iconic Looking For Freedom, which he famously performed in Berlin on New Year’s Eve in 1989 after the fall of the Berlin Wall.
Revellers can also look forward to an exclusive look at clips from his new film, comedy Killing Hasselhoff, which will play on the evening; whilst being treated to a Hoff-themed menu and, of course, steins of ice-cold German beer.
Jule Wilczoch, Bavarian Beerhouse’s Event Manager, says of Hoff-toberfest:
“We are thrilled to be the host venue for the first, ever Hoff-toberfest celebration. David Hasselhoff is a national treasure in Germany and we are excited to adapt our traditional yearly Oktoberfest celebrations to honour him and his new film. The evening will be one of a kind but maintaining an authentic feel – we are hoping Hoff fans far and wide will join us for our first year of stein-lifting and bench-dancing Hasselhoff-themed fun!”

It’s all be set up to celebrate the release of Hasselhoff’s new film, which sees the legend star as himself – a man with a target on his back.
When Chris (Ken Jeong) a struggling nightclub owner, fails to pay back a debt to a loan shark, he decides that in order to get the money; his only option is to kill his entry in an annual ‘who will die this year’ celebrity death pool; David Hasselhoff.
The film is available on digital download from 18th September, and on Blu-ray / DVD from 2nd October 2017.
