Gigi Hadid has been criticised after impersonating the next First Lady of the United States Melania Trump at the American Music Awards on Sunday Night.
The Victoria’s Secret model was accused of being racist after putting on a fake Slovenian accent during the ceremony.
Gigi also made reference to Melania’s Republican National Convention speech, in which she appeared to plagiarise a Michelle Obama speech from 2008.

The 21-year-old was speaking with co-host Jay Pharaoh when she made the offending comments.
The impression didn’t go down well on social media, and Gigi was accused of showing a lack of respect and being ‘racist’ by her fiercest critics.

.@GiGiHadid's mother has an incredibly thick accent herself, so I especially don't get the low brow, cheap digs at our new first lady.

Stop letting Gigi Hadid host or even open her mouth at any award shows, she's not funny.

Who thought it was a good idea to hire Gigi Hadid to host an awards show? This is cringe worthy

I can't stand Gigi hadid. Not funny to make fun of an Eastern European woman's accent and face. Not a trump fan, but that's horrible #amas
