Slimer and Stay Puft! Ghostbusters brings out the big guns for new trailer

We don’t think YouTubers will be down voting this one any time soon.

The latest trailer for the upcoming reboot of Ghostbusters has arrived and, boy, they mean business this time with a whole host of recognisable faces featuring.

Paul Feig’s update of the popular supernatural comedy franchise will see Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones take on all manner of ghosts and goblin.

However, the movie has so far garnered a mixed response from fans online with the debut trailer for the movie earning the unwanted accolade of the most disliked clip of its kind of YouTube.

That could change with the release of this latest trailer, though, which features a couple of familiar spectres in the shape of not only Slimer but the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man.

Both popular fixtures from the original movies, their inclusion could appease those who may have been concerned that the new film would be too significant a departure in content and tone to the original.

And while there is no sign of them just yet in the new trailer, both Bill Murray and Ernie Hudson are expected to make some sort of appearance in the new film.

Personally, Loaded would love to see Murray and Slimer go toe-to-toe one more time with only one guarantee – lots of ooze.

With more ghosts, more laughs and more fun in general, this new Ghostbusters trailer should ensure a few movie geeks sleep soundly tonight.

Now, how about getting Ray Parker Jr to re-record the original theme song for this latest version? We hear he is not too busy these days…
