Reports from Italy suggest that Newcastle United will be prepared to let another of their high earners leave the club this summer after reports emerged that Gini Wijnaldum could be on his way to Rome for a cut-price of €16 million deal to replace the departing Miralem Pjanic, who Barcelona and Bayern Munich are hovering around.
Wijnaldum signed for Newcastle last summer when Steve McClaren was the boss but after being relegated and Rafa Benitez taking over, it seems Newcastle’s top scorer last season is now surplus to requirements.
According to reports, Roma is hoping their central midfielder, Kevin Strootman can convince his fellow Dutchman to ditch Tyneside for Rome next season.
