26 years ago George Michael gathered together five of the world’s most beautiful women – Linda Evangelista, Naomi Campbell, Christy Turlington, Cindy Crawford, and Tatjana Patitz to star in the music video for Freedom 90.

The ex-Wham! man didn’t feel like appearing in the clip himself, so what better way to promo an anthemic single than with a quintet of red-hot supermodels.

“He thought it would make us into a big deal, that it would be good for us,” Evangelista recalled to Allure. “I was like, Please, we’re here. We’ve already arrived!

“Little did I know that to this day, when someone meets me for the first time, they bring up that video. That’s what they remember. So, yeah, George was right.”

Directed by David Fincher (yes, he of Fight Club and Se7en fame), the music video became an instant classic and even spawned this highly bizarre imitator.

Now, courtesy of Vogue, Freedom 90 has become Freedom 2016 with an all-star remake of the video.

The likes of Adriana Lima, Joan Smalls, Anna Ewers, Irina Shayk and Taylor Hill are the new generation of models seen strolling through the streets of Manhattan and lip-syncing to George Michael’s big hit.
