Did You Spot The Massive Spoiler In The Game Of Thrones Trailer?

It’s all about the choice of James’ Sit Down, apparently

The first trailer for Game of Thrones Season 7 has arrived and while, on the face of it, the clip didn’t appear to give much away, there was one massive hint as to the direction the new series may take.

In the trailer, we see Cersei Lannister walking towards the Iron Throne in King’s Landing.

We also see Jon Snow return to his seat as the King of the North in Winterfell.

Then Daenerys Targaryen is seen sitting on the throne at Dragonstone, her family’s old stronghold and a seat once under the control of Stannis Baratheon.

However, it’s the accompanying choice of music, a slowed down cover of James’ “Sit Down” that is the most telling aspect of clip.

As Business Insider first noted, the song’s lyrics appear to offer a clue as to what to expect from the series:

“Those who feel the breath of sadness

Sit down next to me

Those who find they’re touched by madness

Sit down next to me

Those who find themselves ridiculous

Sit down next to me

Love, in fear, in hate, in tears”

What does it mean? Well, potentially, that the three characters are about to put their differences aside to tackle a common enemy – the White Walkers.

The final clue comes with the fact that the trailer ends with a close up on the eye of the White Walker army’s fearsome leader.

Mind you, with Cersei’s breath also running cold in the final seconds, we suspect that Lena Headey’s character could have something suitably evil up her sleeve yet again.

Either way, we’re excited.
