Video: Game Of Thrones season six trailer teases the return of Jon Snow

The voices of the dead return in a new Game Of Thrones promo.

Game Of Thrones is amping up for its forthcoming sixth season with a sinister new trailer.

The eerie 60-second promo, which debuted on US TV during the two-hour premiere of HBO’s Vinyl, takes place inside The House Of Black And White, a temple featuring the eerie faces of Thrones characters past.

Though the trailer doesn’t offer up a definitive answer on the fate of Jon Snow, the presence of Kit Harington front and center of the teaser is the biggest hint yet that the character will be returning to Westeros.

“The long night is coming and the dead come with it,” Snow says in his eerie voiceover.

Harington has strenuously denied a Jon Snow resurrection, saying: “People didn’t want me to die, but he’s dead. So there you go, everyone has to get used to it.

“People should tune in and watch, because whatever happens in the next season will be very exciting. But John Snow is dead I’m afraid.”

The teaser also features deceased Stark family members Ned (Sean Bean), Robb (Richard Madden) and Catelyn (Michelle Fairley), while Jack Gleeson’s King Joffrey makes his first appearance since his brutal death at The Purple Wedding.

HBO’s recent first-look photos from season six also gave hints about what’s in store, with the Stark family in an increasing state of chaos.

Sophie Turner’s Sansa leapt from the walls of Winterfell with Theon Greyjoy (Alfie Allen), but the duo appear to have survived the fall based on the new images released.

Arya (Maisie Williams) was pledged to an assassins’ cult and left blind at the dramatic close of season five. The recently-debuted picture of the youngest Stark shows her still without sight and and begging for food.

Game Of Thrones will return to HBO on April 24 and air on Sky Atlantic the next day.
