Floyd Mayweather sparked renewed suggestion he could be plotting a return to the ring after posting a series of videos on Instagram and one insider reckons the Money is already plotting his next fight.

The 40-year-old shared a video on social media of him training in his Las Vegas gym and he’s still in impeccable shape.

Mayweather recorded the 50th victory over his boxing career after seeing off UFC’s Conor McGregor in their “Money Belt” cross-over clash last August.

That fight alone is said to have earned Mayweather a whopping £259 million and the American appeared to suggest he would hang up his gloves after the fight.

The new footage of him training suggests otherwise though, while Showtime Sports general manager Stephen Espinoza told TMZ Sports that a comeback is definitely on the cards.

“Floyd has been telling people close to him that he is considering a 51st fight — and he has been training like a maniac in the gym,” he said.

“He is still in fighting shape and ready to go and we have been told he is kicking around the idea of another comeback.”

There’s no word yet on who he might fight, though current welterweight champion Keith Thurman is one option along with IBF champ Errol Spence.

Gennardy Golovkin has also made no secret of his desire to fight Mayweather.

Any hope of Amir Khan facing the American appears to be dead in the water though after Mayweather slammed the British fighter for signing up to appear on I’m A Celeb.

Mayweather told the Sunday Star:

“He wants to fight the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world and now I hear is running away from a few snakes and spiders. I only set up fights with fighters that deserve it and who are going to be part of a great fight for fans”.

Khan is being paid £400,000 to appear on the ITV reality series – the highest fee picked up by a celebrity in the history of the show.
