Fifth Harmony were forced to perform in Brazil without member Lauren Jauregui after she was detained on suspicion of weed possession.

The 20-year-old singer was preparing to fly from the US to South America when she was held by security staff for reportedly having “marijuana in her hand luggage”.

As TMZ reports, Lauren was stopped at Dulles airport in Virginia on her way to the VEVO FunPopFun Festival in Sao Paulo.

A police insider told the site: “Lauren was stopped at a TSA checkpoint and forced to submit to a secondary search, when a TSA staffer found what appeared to be a bag of marijuana in her carry-on luggage.

“Cops were flagged down in the terminal and they promptly arrested the singer.”

A lawyer for the singer reportedly later confirmed that Lauren had not been arrested, but instead was “simply given a citation for possession of marijuana and released on her own recognizance.”

After the incident, members Ally Brooke, Normani Kordei, Dinah Jane and Camila Cabello were forced to perform as a four-piece.

Fifth Harmony formed after competing on The X Factor USA back in 2012.
