Eva Longoria has spoken passionately in support of Hillary Clinton, and criticised Donald Trump ahead of the upcoming US election.
The former Desperate Housewives star hit out at the controversial Republican candidate for his views on the Latino community.
“From the minute that Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump announced their candidacy, it was clear to me that there’s only one person in the race who respects everybody,” she told Ocean Drive magazine.
The 41-year-old also spoke about addressing the stage at the Democratic National Convention in July, saying: “It was the most nervous I’ve ever been.
“It’s a privilege and honour to have the entire country as an audience, so I thought long and hard about why anyone would want to hear from me.”
Criticising Trump, Longoria added: “The fact that he uses the word ‘Latino’ to be synonymous with ‘illegal’ is a mistake.
“I’m ninth-generation American—I’m way more American than Donald Trump!”
The actress went on to say: “There’s a reason we haven’t had a female president in our history. There is a gender bias in politics, in the workplace, and in the society—and to say there’s not is very naïve.”
The US election takes place in the US on Wednesday, November 8.
