Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone are raking in the plaudits for their hugely successful movie La La Land, but things were nearly very different for the hit musical…
Emma Watson and Miles Teller were originally lined up do the film, but new reports are suggesting that they ended up losing the lead roles after being “too demanding” to work with.
Page Six are claiming that Harry Potter star Watson was offered the role of Mia in the movie, but “made crazy demands”, which included relocating rehearsals to London.
As Sky News reports, the site is also alleging that Whiplash’s Teller was offered $4m to star in the movie, but held out for $6m.
Page Six quotes a “Hollywood source” in the article, but the reports have yet to be verified.
“Now both Miles and Emma Watson are raising hell with their agents for not securing the roles for them – even though it was the actors’ fault for being too demanding,” the source is said to say.
Stone and Gosling of course went on to star in the movies, having worked together before on Gangster Squad and Crazy, Stupid, Love.
The film has earned 14 Oscar nominations, which equals the record set by Titanic in 1997. Watch a trailer for the movie below:
