Game Of Thrones is the biggest show of its generation, with millions of people around the world expected to tune in to watch the seventh series later this year.
So, it stands to reason that the show’s stars are getting well paid, right? Well, the cast’s salaries have allegedly been revealed, and they might be even higher than you expected…
According to the Daily Express, the HBO show’s main stars earn a huge $2m per episode.
That means Daenerys Targaryen star Emilia Clarke, Jon Snow star Kit Harington and Cersei Lannister star Lena Headey are a couple of million dollars richer by the time each episode is broadcast.
Peter Dinklage and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, known for playing Tyrion Lannister and Jaime Lannister respectively, are also said to be on the same $2m salary.
The salaries are thought to have jumped massively from last year, after the show’s biggest stars were estimated to be earning around $1m per episode.
It means that the five actors are now the highest paid stars in television history, surpassing the record set by the stars of Friends, who were said to have earned $1m per episode on the tenth season of the show.
They’re pretty huge figures, but when a show is this good, it’s worth every penny.
Meanwhile, anticipation ahead of Game Of Thrones season seven is high, especially after a new series of photos released by HBO appeared to give away some pretty major spoilers…
Game of Thrones Season 7 returns on 16 July.
