We Finally Know Whether Elizabeth Shaw Will Be In Alien: Covenant

This new clip is the closest thing we'll ever get to a Prometheus sequel.

Alien: Covenant is just weeks away from being released, and there’s still so much we don’t really know. Is it a Prometheus sequel? Or an Alien prequel – or even a sidequel?

The film was originally billed as a follow up to Ridley Scott’s slightly disappointing 2012 movie Prometheus, before being given the new title of Alien: Covenant, which ended up just confusing a lot of us.

Now, we know for sure that the film takes place in the years between Prometheus and the first Alien movie, but there’ve been precious few details revealed about what happened to the surviving crew of Prometheus… until now.

A new clip has been revealed which shows the events that followed immediately after Elizabeth Shaw and David took off from LV-223 at the end of Prometheus.

While Noomi Rapace isn’t listed amongst the cast of Alien: Covenant, the new clip pretty much confirms that she’ll play a part in the new movie.

The video, titled The Crossing, sees Noomi Rapace and synthetic Michael Fassbender’s characters aboard the Engineer’s vessel they escaped in.

Instead of heading home, the pair decide to continue their search for the creators, and Shaw fixes up David on the way.

The clip ends as they enter what we presume is the creator’s home world, and David looks braced for a hostile welcome.

The video has already racked up over a million views in just a few hours, and it shows just how much anticipation there is ahead of the new film’s release.

Fassbender is set to return alongside newcomers to the series Katherine Waterston, Billy Crudup, Danny McBride and James Franco.

Alien: Covenant is released on May 19.
