Every January the gyms are full of people trying to shed the pounds they gained over Christmas, and invariably by the time February comes around they’re completely empty again.

But it turns out getting fit is a whole lot easier than people think. An expert has revealed exactly what you should be eating if you want to get buff, and it could save you a whole lot of time and effort in the gym.

A world renowned dietician and trainer has revealed the perfect breakfast dish guaranteed to get results, and if you’re like loaded and can’t be bothered with fiddly diets and detoxes, it’ll be right up your street.

As The Independent reports, Charles Poliquin, who works with top Olympians and fitness models, says that the eating meat and nuts at breakfast is the perfect way to get in shape.

Steak at 7am might seem an odd choice, but Poliquin claims that eating that and other meat dishes early will result in ‘optimal leanness, energy and sustained mental focus’ throughout the rest of the day.

It turns out meat gives you a steady blood sugar release, which is perfect for helping you avoid food cravings and improving performance during workouts.

The nuts he recommends are of the cashews, almonds, macadamia, hazelnuts and brazils, but you’re better steering clear of fatty salted peanuts.

So there you have it, if you want to lose the festive flab accumulated over Christmas, it’s time to ditch the Shreddies and go for steak instead.
