Officiating under the influence is never a good idea.

Two referees in the Czech Republic have been slapped with bans – for officiating a game while drunk.

What’s usually the domain of Sunday morning non-league football reared its head in a top-division game between FK Pribram and Slavia Prague on Wednesday.

Fourth official Marek Pilny and additional assistant referee Jiri Jech both appeared to be inebriated, swaying awkwardly on the touchline and allegedly urinating during the game.

According to The Telegraph, both officials will lose their licences and face disciplinary action.

“Pilny was visibly drunk from the beginning of the game,” a statement from The FACR said.

“He struggled for balance by the touchline, he fell, at times he ran with the linesman copying his movements.”

“After 10 minutes he had to be guarded by a bodyguard, and at halftime Pilny left for the changing rooms and never came back.”

Czech FA head Miroslav Pelta added that the pair “were not tipsy, they were drunk. They don’t exist for us anymore”.

Video of the pair’s awkward staggering has been making its way around the web, and from viewing it above it’s pretty clear more than a few units have been downed.

And you thought Mark Clattenburg was bad? He’s got nothing on these jokers…
