The official title and plot outline of Die Hard 6 has seemingly been revealed and there’s good news for anyone concerned Bruce Willis was about to be sidelined from the action.
It was already common knowledge that the sixth instalment would flit between Willis as the 60-year-old McClane and a younger incarnation of the one-man army.
That development sparked concerns among fans of the franchise that Willis would be taking a backseat role in the new film.
However, according to an exclusive report from Empire, Willis’ role will be equal to that of the actor drafted in as the younger McClane.
Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura confirmed the news to Empire, while also revealing that the film’s title has changed from Die Hard: Year One to simply McClane.
“We want you to get invested in John McClane more than ever before,” he explained.
“The idea that he’s not very significant in this movie is not accurate at all. We are gonna explore John McClane in his twenties. But just as prominent is the 60-year-old version.”
Though the new name might not float every fan’s boat, the franchise isn’t known for its great titles, as names like Die Harder and Live Free and Die Hard demonstrate.
Let’s just hope it’s a step up from A Good Day to Die Hard i.e. Jai Courtenay doesn’t come back as McClane’s son again.
