It’s almost time.

David Brent’s big screen comeback will be in cinemas on August 19, and Ricky Gervais has just gotten everyone a little bit more excited with the official Life on the Road music video.

“Half a tank should get me to Milbank. I fill her up and head down to Sidcup.”

The clip for the film’s title track envisions Brent as some kind of Slough-based Bruce Springsteen… only one that sees him tear down the motorway selling cleaning and hygiene products.

“Half a tank should get me to Milbank,” Brent croons. “I fill her up and head down to Sidcup. It’s just demeaning. It’s only fleeting. It’s just a pitch and then I’m off to Ipswich.”

All this rock ‘n’ roll behaviour from Brent is done as a strictly law-abiding citizen.

“Life on the road,” he sings. “Don’t need a heavy load. Foot down to the floor. 70 miles an hour. But no more.”

Watch the entire video below and prepare to cringe… and cringe hard.
