David Beckham has pipped the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Gareth Bale to be named as the owner of the world’s coolest man bun.
That’s according to a new poll of 2,000 men who were asked to name the celebrity man bun owner they felt best pulled off the look.
Becks came out on top just ahead of Ibrahimovic with Bale back in third.
The former Manchester United man famously sported the look, among others, during his time with the Red Devils and Real Madrid, making him something of a trendsetter.
The study, commissioned by Mattel to celebrate the launch of a new range of Ken Dolls sporting the popular hairstyle, also revealed Leeds to be the man bun capital of the UK with London a close second and Glasgow third.
“Man buns are one of the most fun male hair trends we’ve seen in years, and we are excited to offer a Ken doll that captures this look,” a Mattel spokesperson said.
“The man bun is just one of 15 new looks for Ken, as the range expands to introduce two new body types – slim and broad – joining the original, new ethnicities and hairstyles including corn rows.”
Russell Brand, Harry Styles and Game of Thrones’ Kit Harington were also singled out as popular purveyors of the man-bun look while Joey Barton topped the list of worst celebrity man buns just ahead of Justin Bieber, Andy Carroll and Leonardo DiCaprio.
