Daniel Radcliffe and Elijah Wood have starred in two of the biggest fantasy film franchises to date in Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings.

Given that’s the case, it’s understandable that there’d be the odd bit of mix-up of identities.

The internet has long been obsessed with the duo’s likeness, even going as far as creating a mesmerising face-morphing GIF that displays just how similar they are.

The confusion runs so deep that a crew member on Radcliffe’s new movie Imperium actually thought he was Wood. And she refused to hear differently.

Radcliffe told loaded: “One of our makeup artists on Imperium, it was shortly after the trailer for Frankenstein came out, she said to me one morning, ‘I saw the new trailer for your new movie at the weekend. You and Vin Diesel.'”

Action-horror film The Last Witch Hunter was the Radcliffe Wood film in question, which definitely didn’t feature the former Harry Potter star.

Watch Daniel Radcliffe discuss his Elijah Wood resemblance:

“She was telling me I was in this film!” Radcliffe added.

“I’m very happy to get mistaken as Elijah, I’ve met him and he’s a lovely chap. I think it must annoy him more than me.”

Imperium, which sees Radcliffe play an FBI agent going undercover to take down a white supremacist group, opens in cinemas on September 23.
