Dakota Johnson’s star turn in the 50 Shades Of Grey movies have made her a household name, but the actress has revealed she’s ready to move on from erotic thrillers for good.
The actress opened up about her more intimate sequences from the series, admitting she is ready to “move on” from filming sex scenes.
Speaking to Glamour Magazine, Dakota said that the film series had made her less inclined to shoot erotic scenes in the future.
“It’s not that it has put me off entirely, but I’m ready to do other stuff,” she said.
“Maybe they will be sexy [projects], or maybe they will be the complete opposite. But I do know that I’m ready to move on.”
When asked if she regretted starring in the film series, she admitted that she sometimes doubted it was the right thing for her career.
“It comes in waves. But this project is not going to be my swan song. It has put my life on a path that I didn’t plan to go down, but I do feel proud of it,” she said.
Dakota also revealed that the intimate nature of the film means her parents have yet to see it.
“They haven’t [seen it] because it’s such a tricky thing. It’s too uncomfortable for them.
“It’s one thing if a film has one sex scene in it, but with this, a large part of the premise is the arc of their sexual relationship, and I think that’s a little inappropriate for my family to watch.”
Dakota Johnson – who recently defended the nudity in the film series – stars alongside Jamie Dornan in Fifty Shades Darker, which is released on February 10.
