He’s only 11 years old, but Cruz Beckham could be about to achieve what Posh Spice never could, and land himself a solo number one.
Cruz is following in his mum’s footsteps by releasing a new single – called If Every Day Was Christmas – and he’s currently in the running to land a Christmas number one.
The new song sees the cheeky singer spread the festive cheer, singing: “If everyday was Christmas and I can’t be with you, underneath the mistletoe, kiss you when nobody knows.”
Cruz announced the single on Capital FM this morning, and revealed that proceeds of the song are going to Global’s Make Some Noise charity, which supports young people living with disability.
The singer has been signed up by Scooter Braun Productions, and Justin Bieber’s manager is masterminding his career.
Victoria Beckham previously spoke about discovering Cruz’s singing talents during a car journey, saying “He’s always the one that plays football, and he was just singing in the back of the car one day. And he was singing, and I was like, ‘Wow, you can really sing.’ And then he picked up his cups and off he went.”
Cruz is up against Little Mix, The X Factor, Friends of Jo Cox and James Corden for Xmas number one.
It seems pretty unlikely that he’ll win. However, 2016 has shown us that anything can happen, and we wouldn’t be surprised to see Cruz top the charts this Christmas.
