Plenty of actors have made ridiculous changes to their physique for movie roles, but Chris Hemsworth’s transformation for Thor is up there with the biggest and best of them.
The Aussie actor first hit the gym ridiculously hard to play the Marvel god back in 2011, and turned himself into one of the buffest stars in Hollywood in the process.
Now, the 33-year-old has given his Instagram followers a glimpse of his insane workout routine, and we’re exhausted just watching it.
In a new clip posted on social media, Hemsworth hits the gym with his personal trainer Luke Zocchi, who he calls “the world’s best”.
Hemsworth hits the weights, does some cycling, does a ropes routing (which anyone who’s done it will know is WAY harder than it looks), before doing some intense resistance training with bungees.
It’s pretty insane, and it’s no wonder that the video has already racked up nearly 2.5m views on Instagram.
Chris has always been hugely dedicated in his pursuit of a god-like physique. His former trainer Duffy Gaver previously said that he was unbelievably focused on achieving the perfect look for Thor, and never took shortcuts.
“People see Chris and they think he was on steroids, but he didn’t touch a single substance,” Gaver previously said.
“It was just red meat, heavy weights and some protein powder. He crushed every single workout. He simply decided to look like Thor.”
What makes the workout more impressive is the fact that Hemsworth slimmed right down for his 2016 movie In The Heart Of The Sea.
