England is set to play host to the very first Bubble Football World Cup in 2018 with 16 different nations set to compete – and they want you.

Footballers far and wide are being invited to try out for a place on this brand new national team and the chance to show off their skills, albeit while encased inside a large inflatable ball.

Something of a favourite pastime on stag dos the world over, this new-look World Cup is being organised by The Stag Company with the aim of putting the bubble football phenomenon on the map.

The competition is taking place in Shoreditch in 2018 across two days from Saturday 19 May to Sunday 20 May 2018.

Saturday’s play will consist of the tournament’s group matches, with those nations qualifying for the knockout phase returning for a series of gruelling fixtures that will decided the eventual winner of The Bubble Football World Cup on the Sunday.

It’s sure to make for entertaining viewing and could be the perfect opportunity to finally represent your country on the international stage.

Bubble football isn’t as easy as it looks though. While mad skills and an eye for goal will get you far, the presence of your inflated bubble casing not only ramps up the temperature but leaves you open to the occasional rash tackle.

And when we say tackle, what we really mean is that you’ll get bundled over. At lot. It’s all in good fun of course and with entrants from the likes of Russia, France and possibly Brazil expected, it’s sure to be a competition to remember.
