Ahead of the release of her ninth studio album, Britney Spears has appeared on the 100th cover of V Magazine – and the photos prove she’s not done with being an international sex symbol just yet.

The 34-year-old pop megastar has also shown she hasn’t lost an ounce of the star quality that saw her grace the cover of Loaded back in June 2000.

Britney is currently on the second stint of her Las Vegas residency at Planet Hollywood, after 24 new shows were added due to popular demand. She’s also putting the finishing touches to her first album since 2011.

“People are really quick to judge but I don’t really care what most people think”

Speaking to V Magazine, she said: “Honestly, I’m just particular with this record. It’s my baby, and so I really want it done right. I would much rather have it be completely how I want it to be, whether that takes another year for me to do, or two months. I have no idea at this point.

“I just know that the direction I’m going in is so good. It’s the best thing I’ve done in a long time. I’m proud of the work, and it’s very different; it’s not what you would think at all.”

One more time? Spears shows she’s not done with being an international sex symbol quite yet.

After two decades at the top of pop, Britney had some typically frank advice for new stars coming through: don’t give a shit.

“Whoever is in the spotlight, people are really quick to judge,” she said. “I mean, there are a lot of kids coming up who’ve experienced that. You know, Justin Bieber, he’s huge, and he experiences that. It’s just the way the world works, unfortunately.

“I’ve been doing this for 20 years. I kind of don’t pay attention to it. I have my relationship with God and myself and that’s what matters to me. I really don’t care what most people think.”

The 100th issue of V Magazine was published on March 1.
