Brazilian diving duo Ingrid Oliveira and Giovanna Pedroso look set to call time on their partnership after a disappointing Rio Olympics in which sex seemingly appeared to come between the pair.
Oliveira landed herself in serious hot water with her diving partner after locking her out of their accommodation so she could engage in a late-night romp with fellow athlete Pedro Goncalves.
According to media reports emanating from Brazil, Pedroso was locked out of her room for the entire night in an incident that prompted a blazing row between the pair.
It did little to help their preparations for the 10-metre synchronised diving either, with Pedroso and Oliveira finishing dead last in the event.
Speaking to Brazilian Newspaper O Globo, Pedroso all but confirmed the partnership was over after the South American Games.
“After the Olympics, I will focus on my individual,” she said.
“It’s good because I will not need to depend on anyone. Then I will be able to improve and evolve more.”
Despite the reports, Goncalves, who was competing at the Olympics as a canoeist, has so far failed to confirm the claims.
Instead, fans have been flocking to Oliveira’s Instagram page, with the diver racking up 171,000 followers and counting.
She may have failed to earn Gold at the Olympics, but something tells us some serious wedge could be coming her way in the coming weeks and months.
