The legend of Bigfoot is nearly as old as time itself.
Stories of wild man sightings can be traced back to the time of the earliest recorded American Indian tribes, who regularly shared stories of Sasquatch sightings among their people.
Around a third of all Bigfoot sightings claim to have taken place in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States, with the remainder coming throughout the rest of North America.
In the majority of instances, these sightings have ultimately been labelled either mistakes or hoaxes perpetrated by fanatics desperate for the fame and attention that comes with their claims (see the image above).
But every once in a while a Sasquatch sighting will occur that leaves pretty much everyone, expert or otherwise, completely stumped. The clip uploaded to the YouTube channel Modern Galaxy falls into the latter category.
In the grainy clip, a hairy, man-like animal, believed to be Bigfoot himself, can be seen lurking between some trees.
The footage was apparently filmed during a walk in the Canadian wilderness and has sparked fresh speculation that the legend of Sasquatch may be alive and well.
It’s not the first claimed sighting, of course, but it’s one of the more compelling of recent times and is likely to inspire plenty of Bigfoot fanatics to head out in search of similar Sasquatch-like beasts.
Could the footage simply be the result of some elaborate special effects make-up combined with a bit of camera trickery? It’s entirely possible.
People have been faking this sort of things for years, whether it’s Bigfoot or something like the Loch Ness monster.
loaded previously discussed the existence of the Loch Ness Monster with a bona fide expert on the subject. He offered up an interesting theory regarding the existence of Nessy which you can read more about here.
The truth is out there. Hopefully.
