It takes a special kind of dedication to put together a convincing cosplay outfit. Loaded’s already seen some cracking Game of Thrones and Lara Croft replicas – now it’s time to shine a light on Batman cosplay.

More specifically, Irishman Julian Checkley, whose Dark Knight duds have just gone into the Guinness World Records 2017: Gamer’s Edition for the Most functional gadgets on a cosplay suit.

Checkley effort boasts everything from fireball shooters to batarangs and smoke bombs. When wearing the suit, which is inspired by Bruce Wayne’s costume from the Batman: Arkham Origins video game, Checkley stands at over 6’10” tall.

The outfit is 3D printed and then moulded and cast in a flexible urethane rubber.

Speaking to The Irish Post, Checkley said the costume was “priceless”, although his wife Margaret apparently can’t stand the sight of it.

“She’s not into it at all, she thinks i’m a big kid like everyone else does,” he said.

Guinness World Records 2017 deputy editor Stephen Daultrey said: “This incredible cosplay suit is a great example of the eclectic records that appear in this year’s Gamer’s Edition 2017. The detail and imagination behind the gadgets take the meaning of cosplay to a whole new level.”
