An Aston Villa fan has been left with a permanent reminder of John Terry’s arrival at the Midlands’ club after getting the Chelsea legend’s name tattooed on his posterior.
Villa fan Guy Higgins took to Twitter to showcase the inking, which was the result of a rather ill-advised bet with friends on social media.
Higgins was seemingly so convinced Terry would not sign for Steve Bruce’s team he pledged to have the former England captain’s name emblazoned on his bum.
“If JT signs for Villa I’ll get his name tattooed on my arse #neverhappenin” Higgins wrote on Twitter, seemingly oblivious to Terry’s interest in joining the club.
According to the Birmingham Mail, the tattoo set Higgins back around £40 and took roughly half an hour to complete.
“I thought nothing of it when I made the comment,” Higgins told the news provider.
“Loads of Villa fans saved it and brought it back up as the JT story gathered pace.
“I’ll certainly never make any promises like that again, I can assure you of that!”
Terry has signed a one-year deal with the Villans and has already targeted promotion back to the Premier League with the one-time European Cup winners.
Perhaps Higgins should pledge to get a full portrait of Terry on his other arse cheek should Villa achieve their target – it could be all the motivation the team needs.
