Ben Affleck and Anna Kendrick have a new film coming out called The Accountant, but for the latter her mind is on something else entirely.
Seemingly sick of being known as the star of Pitch Perfect, Kendrick used a recent promo interview with MTV to pester Affleck about getting a different kind of role.
“I just wish I knew someone who was directing an action movie and cast little ol’ me,” she joked in the comedy skit recorded with interviewer Josh Horowitz.
“It’s 2016 and I don’t need this patriarchal bullsh*t.”
Donning a makeshift Robin outfit (with cape allegedly given to her by Affleck’s mum), she then begged the Dark Knight for a role in his spinoff film The Batman.
When that didn’t anywhere, Kendrick got even more ambitious and pitched herself to play the title role.
“You’re a man and only men can play Batman?” she asked. “It’s 2016 and I don’t need this patriarchal bullsh*t from either of you.”
But, there’s another twist to the tale. Affleck, too, wants to shed his action hero status and try out a movie role to really stretch him.
