Johnny Depp’s dog-smuggling wife, Amber Heard, has people talking again after her latest eye-catching appearance on the red carpet at the 2016 Met Gala.
The Pirates Of The Caribbean star may not have hit much in the way of box office gold of late – blame Tim Burton – but Depp has it made when it comes to his love life. Heard is 22 years his junior and arguably one of the most stunning women in Hollywood.
More importantly, Heard is a fine actor with many a memorable turn to her name in films like Friday Night Lights, Pineapple Express and Zombieland.
However, rather than focus on her critically acclaimed work, Loaded has decided to look back at some of her more titillating turns to date – no, don’t even think about making that joke.
This remake of the 1980s slasher features a fine turn from Heard as Penn Badgley’s perma-bikini-clad girlfriend, keen on finding out why his new step dad Dylan Walsh is so weird. Clue: it’s probably because he was on Nip/Tuck for so long.
Strangely, Heard’s mostly pool-side performance was cruelly overlooked by the Oscar Academy.
Never Back Down
Back when MMA was seen as a dramatic plot device to help young teens take on their bullies in films, rather than the bloodthirsty mess it is at the moment, Heard played yet another supportive girlfriend who liked to wrestle every now and then – because…that’s…realistic.
Here she is providing some extra sexy motivation for the main and entirely forgettable protagonist.
3 DaysTo Kill
In the wake of Liam Neeson’s success as a loving dad/murderous assassin in Taken, Kevin Costner was one of several veteran stars who decided to try their hand at doing exactly the same.
The result is 3 Days To Kill, a steaming turd of a movie that gains some slight Mr Sheen polish thanks to the presence of Heard as some sort of smoking, sexy secret agent lady with lots of hairstyles.
Robert Rodriguez’s attempt to get a Grindhouse franchise going may have ultimately fallen on deaf ears, but there are plenty of game performances in Machete Kills.
Mel Gibson grabbed the headlines but we prefer the sexy and entirely non-anti-semitic Heard as a pageant winner/secret agent. Don’t ask.
The Rum Diary
As with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie in Mr And Mrs Smith, you don’t need 3D glasses to spot the sexual tension between Johnny Depp and Heard in The Rum Diary, which was Withnail And I director Bruce Robinson’s return to film-making after decades away.
Even this short driving sequence involving the pair is enough to get more engines revving than ten Top Gear cenotaph publicity stunts in one.
Based on the Bret Easton Ellis book, The Informers is a dark tale of sex, drugs and immorality in 1980s American high society – pretty much like every Ellis novel, then.
It also happens to have an insane amount of Heard nudity. So much so that most of the clips involving Heard in a series of semi-nude situations are deemed too hot for YouTube. A few tasters feature in the clip above but, for the uncut edition, you may have to buy the Blu-Ray or look elsewhere.
And by look elsewhere, we mean on porn websites.
Alpha Dog was a seminal movie for any number of reasons: It was the first time we saw Justin Timberlake act ‘street’; Bruce Willis wore a silly wig again and the serious tone of the film was shattered by a final scene involving Sharon Stone in a fat suit.
But, in hindsight, the most memorable moment came when Amanda Seyfried and Amber Heard decided to smooch in a swimming pool. The mid-2000s really was a golden age for cinema…
