Amanda Bynes could be close to a major TV comeback, after it was revealed that Nickelodeon bosses want her to return to the network.
The troubled actress made her name on the US children’s channel as a child star back in 1999, and now she’s allegedly being lined up for a return.
As The New York Post reports, producers are attempting to convince the 31-year-old to present a new show and are looking to “work with her again in a positive and healthy way”.
Amanda became one of the most sought after stars of her generation after appearing in The Amanda Show as a child star, before going on to star in films such as Hairspray and She’s The Man.
However, 2010’s Easy A proved to be her last screen appearance, and a difficult few years for Amanda began after she was arrested for multiple driving offenses in 2012.
She was sentenced to three year’s probation in 2014, and during that time she was also arrested for possession of marijuana.
Amanda’s social media posts also became a cause for concern around that time, and she received psychiatric care during the same year.
Amanda is believed to be in a better place now, and she was seen returning to the public eye on red carpets in 2015. However, it’s also unclear whether she has left her TV and film career behind.
Amanda recently completed a second year at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in California, and Nickelodeon might have a job on their hands trying to convince her to get back into the industry.
It sounds like Amanda is making a comeback after a troubled few years, and whether that’s on TV, or in the world of fashion, it’s good to see.
