Alicia Vikander has some huge boots to fill after taking over from Angelina Jolie for the upcoming Tomb Raider movie, but if new behind-the-scenes images are anything to go by, she’s well on her way to doing the character justice.
The stunning Swedish actress is portraying intrepid archaeologist Lara Croft in the upcoming movie, and filming on the project is already underway.
New pictures taken from the set of the movie have emerged on Twitter account Alicia Vikander Daily, and they see Alicia in character as the film’s protagonist for the first time.

No-one pulls off a tank top and cargo pants quite like Lara Croft, and Vikander looks like she was born to take over the role in the new pictures.
The actress can be seen performing her own stunts in the images, jumping from hanging beams and running along platforms.
The upcoming Tomb Raider film is being directed by Norwegian filmmaker Roar Uthaug, who spoke to loaded earlier this year following the release of his latest film, the disaster epic The Wave.
Uthaug hinted to loaded that the new film would be a Jason Bourne-style back-to-basics affair, with the emphasis on practical special effects rather than CGI.
“I want viewers to care about the characters, I think it’s important to ground them in reality and build a back story before the mayhem begins,” he told loaded on his filmmaking style.
“It [Tomb Raider] will be an origins story where you really explore the character’s motivations, that way the audience cares more.”
The Shield and Justified star Walton Goggins is also rumoured to be playing the film’s main villain.
Fans might be excited to see Alicia in action, but they’ll have to wait until March 2018 to see the film in cinemas.
