Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull left a bad taste in the mouth for fans of Harrison Ford’s whip-cracking archaeologist.
So much so, in fact, that Ford and Steven Spielberg will look to redeem the character in a fifth instalment arriving in July 2019.
If you can’t wait until then don’t panic, because one intrepid Indy fan has put together a phenomenally good intro sequence for a proposed Adventures of Indiana Jones animated series.
Patrick Schoenmaker spent five years painstakingly putting together the action-packed sequence showing Henry Jones tumbling through various missions before landing back in his university classroom.
“The TV series to make all other TV shows redundant…”
Indy fans will get a kick out of a brief appearance from Short Round, plus the return of those scumbag villains who Ford foiled in Raiders of the Lost Ark: the Nazis.
The YouTube description of the film reads: “Famous archaeologist Dr Indiana Jones is on a quest of a lifetime, but this time he is fully animated in this passion project by life long fan and artist Patrick Schoenmaker.
“Over the course of 5 years, he has crafted the opening sequence of what would be the TV series to make all other TV shows redundant: The Adventures of Indiana Jones!”
Tragically, Schoenmaker’s will forever remain a fan film, with Disney and Lucasfilm unlikely to put an animated show into development before the new film arrives.
Until then, you’ll have to seek fortune and glory with Schoenmaker’s sensational 90-second labour of love.
