A real-life version of the pub from Harry Potter could be coming to London, after Potter-mad fans launched an incredible Kickstarter campaign.
Fans could soon be drinking in a recreation of the Leaky Cauldron pub featured in the JK Rowling series, just as long as the campaign reaches its funding target.
Simply called The Couldron, the pub will feature wand-activated beer taps and ‘floating’ candles suspended by magnets.
It seems like the perfect way of combining one of the biggest film franchises in history with booze, and it’s definitely the kind of fun campaign loaded can get behind.
Sadly though, the pub won’t be able to sell Butterbeer – a drink familiar to many fans at the Harry Potter studious in London – but instead it’ll offer mead and Cauldron Ale.
The campaign is due to launch on June 26, with the aim on raising $500,000 (£389,000).
In a nice touch, people who contribute will be immortalised in magical moving pictures on the walls of the pub, in true Harry Potter style.
Founder Matthew Cortland explained that the aim is to build “a small and shabby looking pub inspired by the writings of authors like Rowling, Tolkien, and Lewis, where you can feel like you’re at the threshold of the magical world.”
“We’re creating a location that straddles the line between the magical and non-magical worlds: a place where adult fans can visit, have a pint, and geek out,” Cortland told The Times.
So, if you’re looking for a really magical place to sink a few pints, The Cauldron could be the place for you – just make sure you donate first.
