November 11 1985 a legend is born, Thamesford Football Club started a journey that still goes on 28 years later, Striker was born. A lot changed after that first ever comic strip in ‘The Sun,’ Nick Jarvis joined the club and the club changing its name to ‘Warbury Warriors.’ This facilitated the debut of infamous chairman Eric Openshaw as well as his lovely wife, the morning commute was never going to be the same again! With story lines more akin to an episode of Eastenders than a football club, drugs, sex and rock and roll have all been very much on the menu. One of our favourite’s being when star player Nick Jarvis transfers to an Australian team only for his leg to be severed by a shark! Fret not, Nick survived and his leg was sewn back on, but his playing career was over, cue Nick becoming Warbury’s manager, genius!
So it is with much excitement and joy that we can tell you Striker is back, and better than ever, it’s now available as an app; Striker- The Warbury Years! So now you can follow the larger than life adventures of Nick, the team and of course Mrs’s O! You can peel back the years as you join Warbury on their adventure from the depths of the non-league obscurity to Premiership glory! The app is free and you get a free issue, it looks amazing, the 3d style comes across really nicely on your shiny iPhone/iPad screen, it seems that Striker was born to be on this format!
