11 Sega Mega Drive Games that are ripe for a console revival

Consoles have come a long way since the 16-bit glory days of the Sega Mega Drive, or Sega Genesis as it was known in the US, but the system continues to evoke memories of a bygone era of gaming brilliance.

And while the makers of stone-cold classics like Golden Axe and Altered Beast have tried, and failed, to recreate the magic of these low-res originals, loaded reckons there are still plenty of familiar titles out there that are ripe for a Playstation 4 or Xbox One reboot.

ESwat: City Under Siege


A side-scrolling shooter to rival the best on the Mega Drive, this kid-friendly riff on RoboCop arrived in 1990 before being resurrected in a virtual console version on the WII in 2007. A 3D update would go down a storm.
